Trouble with Lights and Tech Support

I would give these lights five stars if I hadn’t just experienced what I did. These small lights are just perfect for my walkway. Within the first week, two of the lights have gone out. They get full sun most of the day and surprisingly burn until dawn! I went through my Amazon order and found their technical support. I chose to chat. They asked all these questions which I answered them and I was told they would now connect me with someone and technical support, but I needed to pay one dollar “to join” which was refundable. I couldn’t go any further, there was no place for me to answer them. The only thing that popped up is a place to put my name and credit card. I was considering doing it, but then I happened to read where Iit said that I would pay the dollar to join and then be charged $43 a month there after! I quickly closed the chat. As much as I love them, I’m considering pulling them up and returning them. I was hoping to get to replacement lights, I would’ve even offered to pay for them, but this sounds too sketchy.

Durable

I’ve had these lights for a year now and they have been so durable. They have held up through snow, rain and hail. Perfect size for lighting up the edges of our yard. Great value!

Just ok

Got these for the patio which gets a lot of sunlight. These got dirty quickly and then didn’t work well. Will replace. Otherwise is ok.

Super useful and long lasting

I bought these solar pathway lights to use for a family gathering in July. We had several kids camping in the backyard and I wanted to light a path to the house and light up the area around the hot tub. They worked great. They only light the ground around each light so they don’t shine in our windows at night, which I appreciate. After a sunny day of charging they stay lit well into the night. Even now with cloudy days in November they stay lit for several hours after sunset. I will buy these again next summer for sure!

Stellar Customer Service

Updated – customer service reached out to me in response from my review, not the submission left on their website. Fantastic support and communication. They sent out replacement lights, with several emails before and after. The new lights were much better than the first set I received. These lights are better for a twinkle effect instead of lighting a path or creating a round circular pattern on the ground.Prior – No help providedBe careful in purchasing, there is no assistance provided when the items do not work as promised.

Good for price

For a minute, I thought there were only 6 in the box, but I found the others were underneath. I put 3 out at first. One seems to be dim, but they are good for the price

Perfect and I love the warm lighting feels cozy

Small but surprisingly bright.

These are smaller than the photos may indicate but surprisingly bright. They were perfect for our intended use. (A 4×8 foot patio on the exit of our RV when it’s parked in the driveway at home.)They only get about two hours of direct sun per day but seem to always come to a full charge and last well into the evening. Certainly a good value for the price.

Started off really liking them

Originally I loved these lights. I got them in July 2023 put them out in August 2023. Well it is now April 2024 and I just realized at least half of them no longer work. Unfortunately I didn’t even get a year of them working properly. Will now start looking for better quality ones. If you need temporary solar lights these are great but don’t expect them to work for a long period of time.

It is a very low light

It is a very low light and breaks very easily. It’s enough to say where you are. But not the light up the world. My driveway is not look very well. Would I recommend this no.

Cheap but don’t last long

After 1 year and a half, out of the 12 lights that come in a pack, only 6 still work. Otherwise they’re ok.

Dim

I bought these in addition to another same set. However, when I assembled all, in the 1st box, one light was almost dead n would not charge. Another light never fully charged. No response from vendor, so I returned both sets. This set worked n looked wel but because I needed the two sets n the 1st set didn’t work complete, I returned them. They were pretty n easily assembled. Sturdy. Vendor has since contacted to send complimentary set.

Easy to install

I purchased these for our walkway up to our front door and they work great. They have a nice subtle glow to them and provide good enough light. They are easy to install and have a switch inside to turn the lights on and off. I didnt realize this and the first night when they didn’t come on I thought they were not working. I went back and turned all the switches on and that night they came on and looked great.

A review after 1 year

Really liked in the beginning from the purchase. Good price come with enough numbers of item so can cover all my front and back yards. But it does not have long life time. After 3 months, one or two light started gone and after 6 months, most of them no longer working. Had to purchase different product, no recommended.

Not much light

If you are looking for lights that produce hardly any light then these are perfect, you can’t even see them from the road for you house. They were easy to put together. Wish I hadn’t thrown away the package to return them.

Didn’t last long

These aren’t very bright and after 2 years about half the ones we ordered don’t work anymore. They are cheap though

Useless product

The product is not up to the mark and not as shown in the picture. No return is applicable and only replacement allowed that too the same product which is meaningless. The product is no use for me as this can be damaged easily by cat also.

Nice lights. Considering its small size, don’t expect the light to be bright for long

After many rounds of heavy rain, I can safely vouch for the lights being waterproof against rain. Indirect sun yields faint light. It needs direct sun for the lights to appear fairly bright at night. The brightness start to fade noticeably after about three hours after dusk, which is OK for me because that would approach bedtime.

Easy to install and works fine.

If I can get these things to work anyone alive or even recently killed has a chance. I have 3 stages of mindset when I work on any project that is hands-on. OptimismFrustration Destruction I was able to skip the last two with these solar lights. They do not throw out enough light to keep you awake at night and to my mind, are decorative more than functional but I figured that would be the case when I bought them. All 12 worked and that was a little amazing to me.

The plastic pole that goes into ground breaks easily. The round part is soft aluminumupdate:the company contacted me and offered to send me another set ! very courteous and next time I’ll superglue the pole into the aluminum slot and not stick it in super hard dirtI’m glad there’s companies out there that care about consumers. i’ll buy some more lights

Mostly satisfied. I’d buy again.

Out of a pack of 12 lights, two were defective and non-functioning right out of the box. The rest of them work fine, and in fact were still going strong when I left to work at 6:00 the next morning, so I was impressed with that. There’s an on/off switch you have to access by twisting the solar part off of the lamp part. I kept them switched off while I allowed them to soak in the sun for a few hours. Once the sun began to set, I switched them all on. I can’t speak for the longevity of these since I just had them delivered yesterday, but so far I’m very happy with the ones that are working. I tried to give the company an opportunity to correct it before I left a review, and if they had, I would have given 5 stars, but I can’t even reach them. When I clicked on the link in Amazon to have a defective item replaced, it took me to another website where I filled in an online contact form, but the submit button was non-functioning. And I could not find a phone number anywhere. So there seems to be no way to reach the people that would be able to replace the two defective lights. I get that sometimes things are just defective, but I just wish I had a way of reaching a customer service rep who can get those two bad ones replaced.That aside, even the 10 good ones I have are worth the money spent IF they last and are weather proof. They haven’t been through rain yet, so we’ll see. If they fail after the first bit of inclement weather, I’ll update the review. And if the company sees this review and reaches out and replaces the bad lights, I’ll update the review for that, too. Would I recommend these or buy them again? Yes, at this point I believe I would, since I have 10 good lights that were worth what I paid. Just be aware that you may or may not get a couple of duds in the batch, and if you do, you’ll have trouble finding someone to resolve it.In the photos, the night picture with the most ambient light was taken with flash while the other two were taken without flash. The day time picture is just too show how unobtrusive they are. We’re still working on adding boulders and plants to the rick gardens, but even with the surrounding landscape being somewhat bare, they don’t stand out too much. I tucked them pretty deep into the ground because I only wanted the light exposed, but none of the post. I bought the cold white and love the nice, clean, crisp look, and it makes our very dark walkway leading up to our front door much safer at night since our neighborhood is quite dark. I didn’t want anyone tripping over the wood borders of our rock gardens that line the walkway on both sides, as my daughter often gets fast food or Chinese take out delivered after dark. Safety was the main reason we purchased, but they look beautiful, too, and really dress up the after-dark curb appeal.
